Each hour and a half session will lead athletes through individual, partner and small group drills designed to maximize reps. For each drill, our experienced coaches will prove "look fors" before the drill and feedback during. Athletes will be separated by age and ability level to help enhance the experience for all athletes.
Session 1: Ball Control July 20th & August 3rd 9:00 - 10:30 AM
Campers of all ability levels will focus on passing mechanics, footwork, serve-receive concepts, and court positioning. Drill progressions develop an athlete’s ability to read and defend various types of touches in order to help their team transition into offense.
Session 2: Serve/Serve Receive July 20th & August 3rd 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM
Campers of all ability levels will focus on arm-swing mechanics, hand contact, footwork, and how to understand the relationship between velocity and accuracy. Athletes will have an opportunity to receive various serves while exploring the different roles and responsibilities in serve receive.
Session 3: Individual Defense July 20th & August 3rd 12:30 - 2:00 PM
Campers of all ability levels will focus on passing mechanics, footwork, various defensive moves, footwork patterns and court positioning. Our drill progression develops an athlete’s ability to read offensive players and create opportunities to get touches on a variety of attacks.
Session 4: Attacking/Blocking July 21st & August 4th 9:00 - 10:30 AM
Campers of all ability levels will focus on attacking and blocking mechanics, footwork patterns for various offensive situations and expand their "hitter's toolbox" along the net. The drill progression will develop an athlete’s ability to be dynamic and consistent attackers. Blockers will have the opportunity to practice their blocking moves against live hitters.
Session 5: Serve/Serve Receive July 21st & August 4th 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM
Campers of all ability levels will focus on arm-swing mechanics, hand contact, footwork, and how to understand the relationship between velocity and accuracy. Our clinic develops an athlete’s ability to serve with variety and precision. Athletes will have an opportunity to receive various serves while exploring the different roles and responsibilities in serve receive.
Session 6: Setting/Attacking July 21st & August 4th 12:30 - 2:00 PM
Campers of all ability levels will focus on setting techniques, footwork, and specialized movement patterns that are expected setters in various situations. During the attacking portion, athletes will focus on arm-swing mechanics, footwork patterns for different offensive situations, and expanding their "hitter's toolbox". The drill progression develops an athlete’s ability to be adaptable, repeatable and deceptive. This camp is a great way to develop tools to improve their hitter/setter relationship.
